Rising suns
Setting over the west
So sets my heart
Over all my hopes and dreams
Angels may guide me
Day to day
But I know the sting
Of a wound that won't ever close
To search for answers that don't exist
The exhaustion of my humanity

It's getting to me
Like a precious metal
Rusting from the daily showers of salty tears
There's a loss , an emptiness I feel
Gusts blowing on a flickering flame,
A single candle blowing in 90 mile per hour winds
A sadness,
Loneliness that will not evade
It's like a bad dream
Where you cannot awake
It's a heavy truth
You cannot escape

That image of yourself
You've seen change
There are certain things from which you cannot get away
Who you are,
Choices you've made

I'll never regret
The love I gave
true and unselfish
You were hungry,
And I invited you in
You were lost,
I extended my hand

There's a loss , An emptiness I feel
Gusts blowing on a flickering flame
A single candle blowing in 90 mile per hour winds
A sadness,
Loneliness that will not evade
It's like a bad dream
Where you cannot awake
It's a heavy truth
You cannot escape
