Hope
He is Risen, Alleluia! Happy Easter!
"This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad!"
"This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad!"
I didn't think the rain would ever stop
Wasn't sure that Sun would come up
Unsure of the strength I possessed
And though I'd quit searching
You sought me out
Despite my weakness
Despite my doubt
How can we say we love
If it is nothing but selfish
Love and hate cannot both be on our tongues
One cancels out the other one
Loving isn't a matter of flattery,
Of barren words
Devoid of living
Every word is an action in love
Whose story develops in giving
For who has lost themselves in the twistedness of existing
Merely for the material and false praises of men
Men who live for all that fades
Who only seek their own good
Leading to the untruth of what love really is
For it is only in loving others without measure where loves true fire can burn
Where we find our identity as Children of the Light
The more we freely give
The more our light shall shine
Selflessness and self interest cannot coexist
For it is in self denial
True virtue can effloresce
Though man may claim to know love
It is a delusion in itself
True love can only be the fruit
Of Truth within thineself
Hardly will they ever draw water from the same well
logic and opinion
Trading in our salvation
For our momentary thrills
Come on and throw your penny in,
see what time will tell
Our lives are not our own
For we are bound to one another
In our joy and our sorrow
We carry each other
Our suffering we offer
Our offerings uplift another
And so in our bearing our cross
We relieve the weight of our brother
From the perfection demanded by a people
Who know not their origin
Whom know not their identity or forgiveness
Because they are blinded by their cheap endeavors, truth has become foreign
Forgetting we are of one body
We all will be judged by one truth
Whether we loved one another
As we were told to
And only In our dying to this world
Will we begin
I didn't think the rain would ever stop
Wasn't sure that sun would come up
Unsure of the strength I possessed
And though I'd quit searching
You sought me out
Despite my weakness
Despite my doubt
