We're all looking for something
Perhaps that's just it
There's never enough
We are self created addicts
so comfortable living in the grey hue
color exists
beyond what we can control
We just need to learn to trust and
let go

So self consumed
We've become the child on that carton of milk
On the ten o'clock news
Lost
Without any answers
Without any cause

We have lost our need for others
And they're need for us
Have we forgotten how to love?
Are we so mainstream that we misplaced our passion,
For a life of regrets and mistrust ?

Given up on being the change
Because it's much easier to blame
Others for the failure in our lives
We are a frail and fallen people
Twisted , bent , and frayed
there's always hope
But change can't wait
It needs to start now,
Right Here , today

Exploiting ourselves ,
For fifteen minutes of fame
Has our craving for attention
Rid us of our shame ?
Has our quest for independence
Pushed our beliefs away?
Misinterpreted freedom
Pronounced killing the innocent as a 'way of living ?'

I don't know about you , but I prefer to
 Be told the truth
Rather than the pretty , little , lies
That have sabotaged our youth
