Mockingbird,
I hear you call my name in the silence of the night
Sometimes in the calm of rustling leaves
others in my pain filled cries,
supplications enfolded in tiny little offerings...
And though this frailty and fatigue
May pull me down
I know my suffering is not in vain
I know there's more to life than this pain
Like the soft song heard admist
Weeping in the night
Tying together simplicity and divine
Love crowned by humility
Tears purify hearts
In need of healing
Peace comes from surrendering all
Peace comes from surrendering all
It's a serene river
before the major squall
before the major squall
Because the war rages on
Inside and out
Despite my brokenness I will not
Bow down
To a life of regrets and shame
I refuse to be ruled by doubt
